January Reflection Questions

January 16, 2023
By Sr. Pio Maria

January Reflection Questions:

  1. What can you do to more fully dispose yourself to experiencing the abiding presence of God in Holy Communion? How can you prepare your heart?
  2. Do you recognize Jesus trying to ‘break’ you of anything in the current circumstances of your life? How can you turn to Him in this and allow Him both to heal you and to set you free to give more fully the gift of yourself in your community?

p.58

  1. When and how have you experienced the pain of abandonment in your life?
  2. How has Christian community either reinforced or healed those wounds?
  3. What do you believe was present in the early Church community that is missing today in our communities?

p.63

  1. What are the barriers in your heart and community that prevent Jesus' abiding presence from being manifested more fully?
  2. What are your thoughts and reactions to Fr. Edward's healing experience?
  3. Recall any intense encounters you have had with Jesus in prayer or in the sacrament of Holy Communion. Describe what happened.
  4. Consider how the process of “taking, blessing, breaking, and giving” occurred in the apostles' lives beginning with the Last Supper and proceeding into the early Church after Pentecost. How does this process play out in your life?
